HISTORY
V1.05 Oct 1996
° If the Disk/Directory that DEELETA was run from was not
available then DEELETA would ask for that disk/directory
to be inserted in a drive. This has been corrected.

° DEELETA's GUI has been changed to be more compact.

° DEELETA now closes all open windows of directories that have been deleted and also removes all icons of deleted  files.Previously only files with icons and all directories except the first was closed/removed. ( Refer BUGS )

° You can now set where you want DEELETA to to send it's report to. ( Refer TOOLTYPES )

V1.01 Aug 1996
° If you set the tool types to 'DONOTWAIT' DEELETA will not activate its window. This is of use if you have Deeleta in your WB startup drawer.

BUGS
DEELETA was written on an A1200 and the program worked exactly as intended but whilst testing on a system with WB2.04 it was discovered that the following would not work. The first, and one that you can probably live without is that there is no zoom gadget. The second which is more of an inconvenience is
that on WB 3.0 windows of deleted directories are closed when that directory has its window open and icons are removed from the display again if that window is open. But on WB2.04 only files with icons where removed from the display. All files/ directories will be deleted it's just that the display is not
updated to display this. So if you are using WB 2.04 then delete your files/ directories and then select Update from the WorkBench menus. Needless to say that in theory there should be no difference between the two. I will of course try to correct this bug. Note: Closing all windows of directories that you are going to delete will avoid this bug.

THE PROGRAM
DEELETA is a simple to use directory / file deleter. An AppIcon is set up and you simply drop icons onto the AppIcon. DEELETA can delete single files, multiple files ( by using extended selection ), Whole directories and complete disks. Use this program with EXTREME CAUTION. NOTE: If you have to use SHOW and/or VIEW BY from WorkBench then you can still delete these files. Simply use DEELETA as you would for an Iconed file.

DELETE A SINGLE FILE / DIRECTORY
Simply drop the selected file onto the appicon. ie click on the file you want to delete. Do not let go of the left mouse button, move the mouse until the image is over DEELETA's appicon and release the mouse button.

DELETE MULTIPLE FILES / DIRECTORIES
Click on the files you want to delete. ( Hold down shift key to select more than one file / directory ) then drag and drop.

DELETE COMPLETE DISK
Drop the disk icon onto DEELETA's appicon

IGNORE PROTECTION
If this has been selected then as the name suggest the file protection is ignored and the file will be deleted even if it has been protected against deletion.

CONFIRM
Puts up a requester asking for you to confirm you choices. Refer to DELETION / SELECTION for more information. The requester may have two or three choice these are
Delete - delete file/directory
Next - do nothing and jump to the next file/directory
Abort - do nothing. Delete NO files.
If you select abort all selections will be disregarded

DELETION / SELECTION
CONFIRM must be selected. There are two types of confirmation the first DELETION will put up the requester asking you to confirm the deletion of EVERY file. ie if you select a directory then you must confirm every file in the directory. With second SELECTION you will be asked to confirm only the files that you selected. ie if you select a directory then you will be asked if you want to delete the directory only and not any other files or directories in the selected directory.

DISPLAY ERRORS / CREATE REPORT
DISPLAY ERRORS if selected will show any errors that occurred during the deletion process in a requester.
CREATE REPORT will create a report as either a file or send it to a printer. This will show any errors and if a file was deleted.

REPORT TO FILE / REPORT TO PRINTER
CREATE REPORT must be selected. This is where to send the report to. If you have chosen REPORT TO FILE then you may set the path. The path is where the report file will be saved to.

ESC CODES
When DEELETA creates a report esc codes are also sent to make text bold, colour text etc. You can switch OFF the sending of these esc codes by selecting ESC CODES from the pull down menus.
