Coding of the next version of
Dcat Shopping List has started. This version will add several
new features such as importing lists from word processors, more
statistics, item categories and other improvements. Expected
completion Date is set for end of July.

Finally. Problems with email being sent to dcatsoftware.com have been solved. Arachnet did not give a reason for the fault, but email sent to dcatsoftware.com would be
rejected by Arachnets email server. Hopefully there will be no other problems to cause me grieve.

Released Dcat Screen Saver version 1.40b. This fixes a couple of minor bugs. Read about the fixes here.

Move to a new web site which is
hosted on http://www.arach.net.au
servers. I now have a domain name which is dcatsoftware.com so
my site address is http://www.dcatsoftware.com.
I will still be able to be emailed via daviddcat@hotpop.com
and daviddcat@subdimension.com.
I finally gave up on crosswinds and the restrictions plus no
reply to an email sent to crosswinds about the VB runtime module
issue and decide that if I want to have a quality site then I
must have a quality host. "The Burgh Network
Solutions" is a good host but I could not upload any large
files such as Dcat Screen Saver, VB Runtime Modules etc. The
Burgh is a great web host but not for my requirements so here I
am with arach.net.

Finished uploading to my new host "The Burgh Network Solutions". The address to access the site is http://www.tbns.net/daviddcat. But
you know that because you are reading this. This host looks to be very good. There are no advertisements, banners etc and it is free. Read more about "The Burgh Network Solutions" here.
2nd April to 11th April 2001
Where has my site been. Well, when I updated Dcat Screen Saver I also updated the Visual Basic 5 and 6 runtime modules and with astounding speed and no advice from crosswinds (where the
site was hosted) my site was deleted, bang gone. Why, I was confused I had followed crosswinds terms of service, I had only freeware/shareware files and images which I held the copyright to or had permission from the copyright holder.
It seems after I contacted crosswinds and received a curt reply that they do not permit the Microsoft Visual Basic runtime modules to be held on their servers, so despite the VB runtime modules being freely distributable crosswinds
deleted my site for uploading these files. That left me without a host. So with a bit of research I found a new host (The Burgh Network Solutions). I sent another email to crosswinds explaining to them that I believe I have not broken
any of their terms of service, to date, as I type this I have not had a reply.

Damn!!. My computer used to connect to the internet crashed in a major way. I have replaced the hard drive and reinstalled, But I have lost all emails sent to me since July 2000. If you

This site has been down for the last week or so. Crosswinds (where this site is hosted) have upgraded their servers. This did not go easy and created all sorts of problems for them and in
turn created problems for me.
I have now uploaded the complete site but this reflects how the site was in early December 2000. I will bring the site up to date over the next week or so.

Coding of Dcat Screen Saver is going slower than anticipated. Release date is now planned for end of January/ beginning of February 2001. This version will add support for
MP3 audio.

Released Dcat Screen Saver version 1.32. This version fixed a fault with transition delays that were set greater than 30 seconds.

Released Dcat Shopping List version 1.01. Minor code changes. Changed the installation program. The new one looks a lot better.
